for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
CID was a huge part of Annie's family, with four of their siblings being educated there. CID evaluated each of their abilities to listen, talk, read, and succeed in the hearing world. CID not only trains their students, but includes the family members in the education process. CID is located in St. Louis and reaches out worldwide to help children reach their fullest potential.
The National Technical Institute for the Deaf is where Jill went to college and achieved her degree in Biology. Jill searched for a technology college for deaf and hard-of-hearing students and is proud to be an alumna.
CID and St. Joseph have similar education goals. St. Joseph locations are in St. Louis and Indianapolis.
Hearing Our Way magazine is the only magazine for kids and teens with hearing loss.
Jill’s hard-of-hearing sister, Jeanne, works with the deaf/hard-of-hearing community in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jeanne has worked all her life on behalf of the deaf/hard-of-hearing education in which her contacts extend nation-wide and around the globe.
Cochlear Implants and Audio Clips that simulate hearing loss are featured in this website. Support for teachers include published articles, information, helpful checklists and tools. The deaf students’ study materials can be useful to both parents and professionals.
This website is a great public health site that gives direction and services to families with children you suspect have hearing loss.
The Deaf Poets Society is an online journal that publishes deaf and disabled literature and art.
